Western States Reclamation, Inc. (WSRI) started its roots back in 1983. Ever since then, many of those relationships that helped make WSRI successful are still evident today. Here at WSRI, we take pride in the work that we do and believe our employees are the key to our success.
Below is a short paragraph from our President and CEO, David Chenoweth as well as a few testimonials from our employees that show with the right amount of determination and hard work, you can have the opportunity to achieve your career goals.
David Chenoweth – President and CEO
“My wife Liz and I founded WSRI in 1983. We have grown from 6 employees the first year in business to nearly 200 employees and three office locations at the current time. One of our greatest joys is being able to offer our employees continuing advancement opportunities in land restoration, commercial landscape construction, and stormwater management. Our employees take great pride in the work they perform. We frequently receive feedback from our clients that we have exceeded their expectations in industry knowledge, quality of workmanship, and timeliness in job completion. We look forward to you joining our team! “
Colby Reid – Division Manager
“As a member of WSRI since 1999, I have been exposed to every aspect of our business from the field to management. Over the years we have grown as a company not only in size but the type of projects and services provided. One thing that we have been able to maintain and appreciate is our culture where we are both co-workers and friends. Employees that have the desire to grow and advance are given the opportunity to do so, as I have experienced it personally.
WSRI has worked hard to establish our reputation as well as become a place where everyone has an opportunity to grow professionally.”
Joe Schneider – Project Manager
“WSRI has provided me the opportunity to grow in an industry that is both interesting and challenging in many ways. During my career with Western States, I have been able to meet and learn from many talented and dedicated individuals in the reclamation and commercial landscaping industry. WSRI has been a great place to make a living and make a difference in the environment at the same time.”
Dustin Burchfield – Shop Manager
“Working for WSRI for the past four years, I have been given the opportunity to advance within the company. I started in the field as part of a reclamation crew and am now in charge of managing our shop and scheduling. I have been able to meet plenty of people throughout the industry and further my knowledge in all aspects of work. It’s very common to work all throughout the state and surrounding areas and to see something different each day. It’s never the same job from day to day. WSRI hires good people who we know can make a difference in our business, and are always striving to be the best.”
Charlie Ampe – Field Foreman
“With a Bachelors degree in Land Use and Environmental Resources along with 5 years experience in wetlands, forestry, and erosion control I was able to start with WSRI as a reclamation foreman in training in 2015.Working for WSRI gave me the opportunity to travel throughout most of Colorado and Wyoming working on projects that involved seeding, solar, wind farms, and pipeline reclamation. I’ve been able to grow alongside the company as I am currently a Field Foreman which means I’ve had the opportunity to run crews of 7 to 25 people. WSRI is a very diverse and constantly expanding company, and I am excited to see what my future holds here at Western States Reclamation.”
Antonio Garcia – Field Superintendent
“In May of 2004, I was given the opportunity to start a new career with WSRI. I started off like most, working from the bottom with a crew gaining knowledge and earning the respect of my superiors. After a couple of years, I learned the ins and outs of the company and how everything operated. Knowing what was expected and proving that I was loyal and trusted employee, I was promoted to foreman. I was tasked with running a crew, and now I’m in charge of running multiple crews on multiple job sites. I enjoy coming to work because I know that no two days will be the same, I am challenged every day by different situations. I have been honored to have worked with some great people throughout the years and look forward to the many opportunities that lie ahead of me with WSRI.”
Clint Snow – General Superintendent
“As a General Superintendent, I have been afforded many opportunities to interact with all or our employees and many client types. I enjoy mentoring junior and seasoned employees alike, helping them maneuver the ever-changing working conditions of this industry. I started as an Irrigation Superintendent working on large-scale irrigation projects ranging from Sport Complex to Parks and Nature Trails. Once I had gained experience in these areas, I was given the opportunity to expand into projects that had a Reclamation component, including Storm Water Management, which gave me the opportunity to work on Streambank and Flood repair, Pipeline Restoration, Wetland Construction and even Post-Forest Fire Stabilization projects. This year will be my 12th year with WSRI and every season is different and rewarding. I continue to have the opportunity to share what I have learned throughout the years and be able to learn new concepts and methods from others along the way. I always look forward to what is on the horizon in this challenging industry!”
